Duck Dodgers ROCKS!!!
Okay. I thought the new toon Duck Dodgers in the 24 and 1/2 Century was a cute idea but never watched it before a couple of weeks ago. Then, I happened to turn on to Teletoon just as it was starting. Get this: Tom Jones - Mr. Delilah himself - sings the theme song with music by the Flaming Lips! This in and of itself is off the cool meter but what I saw today...
I tuned in today to see what I now know to be episode 9.
Let me tell you what I saw.
Duck Dodgers, due to a mix up at the dry cleaners, ends up becoming GREEN LANTERN!! He gets Hal Jorden's laundry and has to help the Green Lantern Corp against a nefarious plot of Sinestro's! All the Green Lanterns are in it: Tomar-Re, Kilowog, Salakk, Ch'p, Boodika and even Guy Gardner!!!!
I had to grab a co-worker to watch it with me, I was in such disbelief. As we watched it, Jeff (the co-worker) kept looking at me, dazed and saying "It's more faithful to the comics than the JLA and it's better done than most mainstream films!"
I've been in a pretty depressed mood since Saturday but tonight, tonight Duck Dodgers made my grin like a little kid at Christmas and made my week.
