That Boy is a Rip-Off
Well, this is mildy amusing in a "give me a fucking break, you snot-nosed brat" kind of way.
TBIT just found this site which popped up on Diaryland in 2003. It doesn't seem to have been updated in almost a year but it still annoys me.
Some 15 year old kid is calling himself That Boy is Toast and his little female friend is Marmalade. This kid even has a section called Burnt Toast. The site is supposed to do some type of review, I think of other Diaryland sites.
I've heard imitation is supposed to be the sincerest form of flattery but blatant ripping off another person's site is just fucking annoying. I mean, come on. Not only has the kid used the toaster & toast from TBIT's ancient 2000 design - which is a magnet on our fridge but even abbreviates himself as TBIT. He claims the name just popped into a friend's head. Ah yeah, a friend who looked at the frickin' internet.
Actually, now that we've thought about it, TBIT was constantly testing sites and opening accounts to see how they were set up and how their system worked. TBIT, I know, created at least one account somewhere to do movie reviews. It would not suprise us in the least that this kid found TBIT's inactive Diaryland account and co-opted it.
Yeah, yeah, I hear someone saying "why is she so annoyed by this? It's nothing." I'm honestly not quite sure why it annoys the fuck out of me. I think part of it has to do with the claiming of originality when a quick google search for "Toast Boy" would have shown TBIT's site pretty damn quick.
Just for the record, my TBIT has been TBIT since late 1999 and I've been Marmy since about 2000.
So there. pppppppplllllllllllttttttttt. :P
