I'd Work There
Jesse James, the bad boy bike builder, has opened a new fast food restaurant near his shop. I love the fact they welcome tattoos and peircings. I suppose if you are Jesse James, you'd hire people you'd feel comfortable with, plus, it adds to the badass image of the place. A pitbull as a logo and tough-as-hell looking staff says don't expect service with a smile.
However, there is a twist with this restaurant - they serve hormone and preservative free beef with organic toppings. (I expect the prices are premium as the meat is Kobe beef.) The restaurant is run by solar power and the product wrappers are biodegradable.
Of course, Jesse is getting a lot of flak from macho grease monkeys who blame his marriage to Sandra Bullock for turning him into a treehugger and from treehuggers who say he's not gone eco-friendly enough (are there veggie burgers? Is the produce locally grown? How can we trust someone who builds gas guzzling engines to really care about the environment, blah blah blah blah)
Jesse James is doing something a lot of celebs do in marketing his image. He obviously has nostalgia of old drive-up burger joints where half the fun of eating there was showing off your car or bike. However, rather than just re-creating, he's doing something new and attempting to make an eco-friendlier business.
I say "Good for you."
