Split Personality?
Last night I had a weird dream, even for me. The dream started like it was a 4-H film from the 1950's showing what life is like on a family farm with a twist or with twisted characters. Mother was an obsessive compulsive on the verge of total mental collapse, Daughter was a budding nymphomaniac, Junior was borderline sociopathic but with a strong desire for self erradication, Father was Father-Knows-Best oblivious while GrandPa had an obession to compare household objects in terms of their merits for the job to which they were intended: "This sponge is for scrubbing, whereas this sponge is for general absorption." This film started to play in my head. It featured a wobbling audio track with sacchrine music and the manditory narrator voice-over describing each scene as it appeared. Then things got weird.
Suddenly, my interal monologue voice in my head started heckling the film, a la Mystery Science Theatre 3000. The voice was then joined in heckling by two other totally different voices that I have never heard before. They were having a great time riffing on the film, at some points re-winding in order to re-heckle a previous choice scene. They were having a ball, meanwhile I was wondering who the hell these other two were, where did they come from and why did my inner voice know them.
I woke up much later and several dreams later but am still suspicious as to what is going on in my head.
Just as an aside, I had another dream that would seem to be a TV sitcom. The dream dealt with a heroin* dealer trafficking with a cowboy at a state fair being mistaken for a thoroughbred horse dealer by everyone else at the fair. The ensuing confusion over the dealer's choice of slang taken literally by the local yokels provided much hilarity.
*F.Y.I., if you didn't know, heroin is sometimes also called horse.
