Hi. My name is Marmalade Girl.
I'm ** years old and I'm a WarCrack addict.

Yes, I've fallen into the World of WarCraft and I don't want to get out. In the week (?) TBIT has had the game, I've managed to solo a character (Female Night Elf Hunter) to level 15. The hardest thing about this is since my computer is in the shop, I've had to use the sole remaining computer when TBIT is not around because when he is, he wants to feed his growing addiction. Yes, yes, I can hear you say "Wow, TBIT works full time and she's just sitting on her arse all day so she must be playing for 12 hours a day." Not true. I don't play in the morning because I am usually sleeping and then, because I am me, it takes about 3 hours for me to be awake/aware enough to get the energy to coherently read my email so playing a game that requires thought is right out. And then, I actually do do other things like buy groceries, do dishes and cook and watch the shows I'm addicted to now. * Wow, the CSI series is like Star Trek - you can turn on the TV at any time and Lo! There is is. Overall, I've been playing maybe 4 hours a day which, granted, seems like a lot but a HELL of of LOT of the WoW experience is just frikkin' RUNNING. It takes this side of forever to get anywhere at lower levels. I hope to gawd it changes when I get to I think it's level 20 and can buy a riding cat.

Because it's TBIT's computer, I haven't been able to map the keys the way I want to nor set the look of the screen. Elves are under a forest canopy - it's pretty dark, so I want the screen brighter. Tbit, on the other hand, is playing a Dwarf warrior who is in the snowy mountains - it's darn bright, so he likes a darker screen.

Playing the game is fun as we are both total newbies without mentors: we are ever so slowly figuring things out for ourselves. I have so many skills and spells and talents and pet commands that I really have to learn macros to toggle through the inventory quickly. I've had only one idiot harassing me so far, but have only exchanged sentences with maybe 3 people but they were polite and nice, which is wonderful. I play CoH regularly and there I have encountered a lot of idiots with attitude who won't even answer a simple question because you are a n00b.

I was killed by a rampaging level 40 orc in a town because he got too close to my pet who attacked him (*note to self, set pet to passive when there is a raider about). I've been challenged to duels but ignored them. I really have to get to a non-PVP option server. PVP has absolutely no interest do me. I really want to try a RPG server where you are moderated to stay in character. It'd be interesting to see how in depth people take the roleplaying even if I'm sure I'd have to switch to a normal server for a break as the Ren Fair air would start to suffocate me eventually.

The main problem I'm having with WoW being a CoH player, is the lack of door missions. All Wow missions I've done so far, I have been competing with dozens of other players trying to accomplish the same mission. The Hunter ability to put a mark on prey has come in handy to let other players know 'that one's mine' but, of course, there are always those "helpful" individuals who attack your kill. It can get pretty busy in some beasts' dens.

* (Okay, TBIT, I hear you. I have been neglecting doing a lot lately but that has little to do with WoW and more to do with my titchy stomache and my accompanying mental distress. I haven't felt healthy or normal in over 2 months)

Will grab some shots later tonight. No terribly fancy gear yet, just a full set of tanned leather armour. She has just one pet so far, of course it is a cat, a duskstalker named Bhaaltor.
