Freezing Rain in Toronto

Last night was a horrible wind storm with freezing rain. The rattling of the windows woke me up several times during the night, along with bangs of things being blown down the street. At 3am, I wandered out to the kitchen to get a drink of water and then looked out the dining room window. Just in time, I think, to see a transformer blow. Either that or there was lightning last night.
Freezing rain is different than a snowstorm. Ice on trees causes branches to break and fall, usually on power lines. Ice coats power lines and snaps them itself. Walking is treacherous, let alone driving. Overall, not a pleasant day.

But, looking out the window, everything outlined in white sure is pretty.
