How I Spent The Weekend
It started Friday night with a viewing of X3.
This trailer (obviously the video is a pirate recording from a theatre but not by me!) got the Usual Suspects wooting and clapping.
The movie X3 itself was pretty meh except for the gang response to that line which actually was in the movie. (NSFW) Fun conversation was had at the Bow & Arrow Pub afterwards.
Saturday, Toast discovered he lost his cell phone but a call from the Bow & Arrow revealed he had left it there. Thank you, Bow & Arrow. Bell wanted to charge him $400 to replace it.
That evening we attended a dinner and dance fundraiser for wNoodle's and 3xW's Eskrima class. The evening started off rough with me getting to the subway before discovering I had left my ticket at home.
I knew there was going to be a demonstration of Eskrima at the dinner but the Drag show was a bit of a surprise. Highly entertaining but a bit of a surprise. The wigs alone were fabulous.
After, several couples took the floor and flashed their ballroom dancing moves. There was one gentleman who was channelling Fred Astaire. Man, he could move. 3xW then pointed out an interesting feature: Filipinos will line dance to every song. I didn't think it possible, yet they did it.
Noods proceeded to have a few beers and get quite giddy.
Over pizza afterwards, we almost lost him by describing the next trend in fighting: penguin wrestling. It would be hard to hold them in a half-nelson because their little flippers would slip right out.
Today is supposed to entail a viewing of Take The Lead, starring the Too Sexy Antonio Banderas but I don't think I am up for it.
