Heroes in the Half Shell
Hmm, I'm not sure what I think about this: a new, animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie to be released next summer. Watch the trailer.
An animated movie is bound to be visually much, much better than the cheesy live action versions that were made but does the world need a TMNT movie? It would be nice to see the orginal attitude of the Turtles from the comic restored i.e. Raphael being closer to Wolverine than Ben Grimm but from the trailer, it looks like they'll be aiming for goofy. Oh well, I'll probably end up seeing it eventually even if on DVD.
Odd note:
the first time I encountered TBIT was in Odyssey 2000, a (deceased) comic book store in Halifax, NS while I was searching for the Eastman and Laird orginal TMNT comics rather than the 4 colour Saturday morning cartoon versions that were available in my hometown. TBIT was blocking my access to a box of pins and buttons I wanted to search through and although I paced behind him for several minutes, he just would not move! so I was forced to leave empty handed. I later learned he didn't move because he was checking out my sister.

Though no longer at it's longstanding Barrington Street location, Odyssey 2000 is still alive and has lived for several years now at 6407 Quinpool Road, right across the street from the much loved Oxford Theatre. Thought you might also find it interesting that Wilkies has also moved from it's grungy home on Robie Street opposite the Commons to Gottigen Street.
Though i never go into comic shops, seeing one never fails to remind me of you guys. Luckily for the readers of this comment, it's morning and i'm drinking coffee, otherwise it would be afternoon or evening and i would not be drinking coffee and "remind me of you guys" would set off a chain of melancholy remenisances that could only end in [hear the slurr] "i love you guys. no, i'm serious, i really love you guys, man." and while true, that is never pretty.
so to sum up:
Odyssey 2000 still alive, now on Quinpool.
Wilkies moved too.
i'm serious, man, i really love you guys. c'mon, no, listen, i love you, man.
