Well, I did it
After bitching about it for years, I finally found the encouragement and incentive to do it. I quit my job in the tv news bidness. Why did I quit? I've worked in television in some way since my second year in university. That was a long time ago. Everything has a natural lifespan and my time with tv was overdue to end. The job had ceased being any type of enjoyment and my dissatifaction had leached into my personal life, dragging it down too. I was unable to bear the daily (largely imaginary) crises and deadlines and all the stress that came along with them. What I am going to do now? I don't know for sure but I have a couple of ideas. How do I feel? Relieved that part of my life is over and eager to start something new but at the same time, scared as hell. I think I'm in a bit of shock that I actually did it. Maybe tomorrow it will sink in that it actually happened.

Congrats on making the tough choice! However scary it might seem now, those things will resolve themselves. At least that has been my experience. :)

I'm proud of you. It's a huge step to leave behind the known (no matter how terrible) for the unknown, but you already know you've made the right decision. Now onto shinier pastures... ooh, shiny.

YAY!! Way to go marmy! I did it and you can too. I left that Security clerk stuff after a decade and now look at where I am. I love my new lot in life as a promotions doode.
